Aion 2 Gear Upgrades: What You Need to Know
In Aion 2, upgrading your gear is essential for character progression once you hit the level 45 cap. Whether you're diving into high-level dungeons or engaging in fierce PvP combat, your gear’s quality will determine your success. Here’s everything you need to know about gear upgrades and how to make the most of them in the late game.

Core Enhancement Mechanics

The gear upgrading system in Aion 2 is designed to be accessible to all players, with some safeguards in place to make sure you don’t lose your progress:

Guaranteed Success Up to +10

The good news is that your upgrades are 100% guaranteed up to +10. This means you can safely upgrade your gear until it hits this threshold without worrying about failure. However, after +10, the risks increase, as failed attempts add a 5% success rate bonus to your next upgrade attempt. This makes your next attempt more likely to succeed, but be prepared for a few failures along the way.

Resource Recovery

If you decide to replace a piece of gear, you can extract your Enhancement Stones from it. This ensures that you don’t lose the valuable resources you’ve invested in the upgrade, giving you more flexibility to try different gear pieces as you progress.

Kinah Investment

While Enhancement Stones can be recovered, the Kinah (the in-game currency) used for each upgrade attempt is not refundable. Because of this, it’s often more cost-effective to upgrade all your gear pieces evenly, like upgrading each piece to +1, then +2, rather than focusing heavily on one item early on. This approach can save you a lot of Kinah in the long run.

Critical Gear to Prioritize

Not all gear is created equal, and some pieces are much more important for your growth. Here are the critical items to focus on:

Weapon (Highest Priority)

Your weapon is the most important piece of gear to upgrade. Not only does it increase your damage output, but it also boosts your ability to clear dungeons quickly. Upgrading your weapon should always be your first priority when enhancing gear.

Revelation Amulet & Noble Belt

These items are considered "keeper" gear, meaning they’ll last you a long time. Both the Revelation Amulet and Noble Belt require dedicated Enhancement Scrolls, which you can find in Strongholds or collect from Monolith Feathers. Investing in these long-term pieces is crucial for building a strong character.

Gear Morphing

One of the best features of Aion 2 is the Gear Morphing system. This allows you to morph a +10 Green rarity item into Blue rarity. The best part? You don’t need to farm a new item. Morphing is a great way to boost your gear’s stats without starting over from scratch. This is an essential strategy for keeping your gear at a high level without burning out on farming.

Progression Roadmap

Gear progression in Aion 2 is a steady grind, but if you follow this roadmap, you’ll see significant improvements over time:

1300–1400 Gear Level (GL)

Achieving this milestone typically involves completing the main questline and upgrading most of your starting gear to +10. This will prepare you for the first wave of high-level content.

1700 Gear Level (GL)

At this point, you’ll start acquiring orange-tier Daevanion skills, and you’ll be ready for early Conquest dungeons. This is where the real grind begins, but it’s also when the game starts opening up in terms of content.

2400+ Gear Level (GL)

To reach this level, you’ll need to grind through systems like Transcendence and participate in high-tier raids, such as the challenging Vakron's Sky Island. At this stage, you’ll be able to tackle the hardest content the game has to offer, and your gear will be critical in surviving and succeeding in these endgame challenges.

Upgrading your gear in Aion 2 is a vital part of your character’s growth. By understanding the core mechanics and focusing on key gear pieces like your weapon and essential accessories, you’ll be ready for anything the game throws your way. Follow the progression roadmap, and you’ll soon find yourself ready to take on the toughest challenges in the game.
