Beginner’s Guide: Quick Start with AutoDrive in FH6
In Forza Horizon 6, the AutoDrive system (also called Full Driving Assistance) is a game-changer. Whether you want to cruise the map, grind credits/XP on long races, or just soak in Japan’s stunning scenery, AutoDrive has you covered. Here’s a simple guide to getting started.
1. How to Enable AutoDrive
You don’t need to dig through dozens of menus—these are the key steps:
Path: Pause Menu → Settings → Difficulty
Key Settings:
Steering: Set to Auto-Steering. Your car will follow the racing line or GPS path automatically.
Braking: Set to Assisted. The game slows your car down for corners, keeping you on track.
Traction/Stability Control (TCS/STM): Turn both On to avoid spins during tight turns.
Once these are set, you’re ready to let the AI take the wheel.
2. Primary Modes of Use
GPS Navigation:
Drop a waypoint on the World Map. Exit the menu, and your car will steer itself toward that destination.
AFK Grinding (Credit/XP Farming):
For long circuits or big tracks like Goliath, hold down the throttle—or use a trigger rubber band—and let the car finish the race while you focus on other things. Perfect for multitasking!
3. Pro Tips for Beginners
Cinematic Mode: Press LB (or toggle the camera) during AutoDrive to switch to Cinematic or Drone View. Capture gorgeous footage of Tokyo streets, mountain passes, and cherry blossoms while the AI drives.
The “Safety” Gear: If your car keeps flying off track at high speed, try Manual Transmission and keep it in a lower gear (3rd or 4th). This caps top speed and reduces crashes.
Know the Limits: AutoDrive shines on asphalt. Avoid relying on it for off-road trails, jumps, or stunts—manual control is still king there.
4. Why Use AutoDrive?
Accessibility: Perfect if you want a one-handed experience or have limited mobility.
Learn the Lines: Watch how the AI handles corners and braking. This is a great way to memorize the Perfect Racing Line before taking control manually.
