Hello everyone, I work in construction cost estimating and just wanted to share a few simple tips that can help when planning small home projects like renovations or extensions.

A few things that usually help:

1. Split the project into parts (materials, labour, and a bit extra for unexpected costs)
2. Try to get more than one quote if you can
3. Keep around 10–15% aside in case something comes up
