How do you stop boxes from crushing each other during delivery runs?
I've been doing small scale delivery work around Dubai for a local grocery shop, and I keep running into the same problem no matter how careful I try to be. By the time I reach the customer, some of the bottom boxes are completely squashed because of all the weight stacked on top of them. It looks unprofessional and sometimes the products inside get damaged too, which means refunds and unhappy customers. I've tried rearranging the load, putting lighter items on top and heavier ones at the bottom, but my van isn't that big so I have to stack things up pretty high. A friend who works in a proper warehouse told me I should look into practical solutions for handling goods safely, especially when you're moving mixed loads with different weights and sizes. That got me searching around and I found this page about plastic crates for logistics and storage here in the UAE, which showed how using uniform, stackable containers can really change the game because they lock together and distribute weight more evenly. I'm thinking about buying a bunch of identical crates instead of using all these random cardboard boxes from different suppliers. Has anyone else made that switch from mixed boxes to standard crates? Did it actually help with the crushing problem or am I just going to waste money on something that won't fix the real issue? I'd love to hear from other delivery drivers or small shop owners before I invest in a whole new system.
