How often should you really service your car in Dubai's heat?
I've been living in Dubai for about five years now and I still get confused about how often I should be taking my car for service. The dealership tells me every 5,000 kilometers, but my friend who knows a bit about cars says that's just a way to make more money and I can easily go 10,000 kilometers between services. Then another friend told me that because of the extreme heat here, I should actually service my car more often, not less. I drive a 2019 Mazda 6 and I don't do anything crazy with it, just normal driving around the city and occasional trips to Abu Dhabi. I was looking online for some guidance and came across the 800Sayara auto care details on a business listing site, which had information about different service packages and what they include. It got me thinking that maybe I don't need the full dealership service every time and I could save some money by doing basic stuff like oil changes more frequently and leaving the big services for once a year. For those of you who have been in Dubai for a long time, what's your actual service schedule like? Do you follow what the manual says, what the dealer says, or something in between? Also, does the summer heat really make that much of a difference for things like engine oil and coolant? I don't want to neglect my car but I also don't want to waste money on services I don't really need. Would love to hear what actually works for people who have been maintaining their cars here for years.
